Indications
Talpramin (Imipramine) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders in adults. Its action is based on the inhibition of neurotransmitter reuptake such as serotonin and norepinephrine, which contributes to mood improvement and reduction of symptoms associated with depression. Furthermore, it can be used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and in some cases of nocturnal enuresis in children over 6 years of age. Dosage and use must be determined by a physician, considering the patient's response and the severity of the condition to be treated.
Composition
Each Talpramin tablet contains 25 mg of Imipramine as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to imipramine or to any component of the formula. It should not be used in patients who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those who have recently suffered a myocardial infarction. Its use is not recommended in people with a history of uncontrolled epilepsy.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, liver or kidney disorders, as well as in those at risk of suicide. The medication should be gradually discontinued under medical supervision to avoid discontinuation symptoms. It is advisable to monitor blood pressure and serum sodium levels during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
