Indications
Synvisc is indicated for the treatment of pain associated with knee osteoarthritis in patients who have not responded adequately to non-pharmacological treatments and analgesics. Sodium hyaluronate is a natural component of synovial fluid that helps lubricate the joint, improving mobility and reducing inflammation. This medication is used as an intra-articular treatment option, providing symptomatic relief in patients with signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Composition
Each Synvisc syringe contains 8 mg/ml of sodium hyaluronate, in addition to excipients that allow for the stability and administration of the product.
Contraindications
Synvisc is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to sodium hyaluronate or to any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered to patients with joint infections or in the presence of active inflammatory disease. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in individuals with dystrophy or severe joint diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Synvisc to patients with a history of allergic reactions. It is recommended to evaluate the patient's general health status before application. Additionally, it is essential to follow administration recommendations to avoid complications, such as infections or injuries to the treated joint.
Storage
The product should be stored at temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Do not freeze. Keep in its original packaging and out of reach of children.
