Indications
Synthroid is indicated in the treatment of hypothyroidism, which is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. This medication is used to replace or supplement thyroid hormone in patients who have been diagnosed with this condition. It is also indicated in cases of goiter, as well as in the treatment of certain types of thyroid cancer. The dosage and treatment must be determined by a physician, taking into account the individual needs of each patient.
Composition
Each Synthroid tablet contains 112 mcg of Levothyroxine Sodium as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate the tablet formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levothyroxine Sodium or any of the excipients. It should not be used in cases of untreated adrenal disease, acute myocardial infarction, or in patients with untreated thyrotoxicosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or coagulation problems. Regular medical follow-up is recommended to adjust the dose as needed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before starting treatment.
Storage
The medication should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
