Indications

Stilnox (Zolpidem) is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, characterized by difficulty falling or staying asleep. This medication acts on GABA receptors in the central nervous system, helping to induce sleep and improve its quality. It is important to note that the duration of treatment should be as short as possible, generally not exceeding 4 to 6 weeks, and should be under medical supervision. Its use may also be considered in specific situations where insomnia is secondary to transient stressors.

Composition

Each Stilnox tablet contains 10 mg of Zolpidem tartrate as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Stilnox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Zolpidem or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea, or myasthenia gravis. Likewise, it is contraindicated in those with a history of substance abuse or drug dependence.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of depression, as well as in those with impaired hepatic or renal function. The use of Stilnox may cause drowsiness the next day, which can interfere with the ability to drive or perform activities requiring attention. Medical monitoring during treatment is essential to evaluate effectiveness and the appearance of adverse effects.
