Indications
Stelazine is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other mood disorders. It can also be used to control severe symptoms of anxiety and agitation. Trifluoperazine acts as a typical antipsychotic, helping to stabilize mood and reduce abnormal behaviors in patients with mental illnesses. It is important that the use of Stelazine be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will assess the need for treatment and adjust the dosage according to the patient's response.
Composition
Each Stelazine tablet contains 5 mg of trifluoperazine as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
Stelazine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to trifluoperazine or any of the formula's components. It should also be avoided in patients with severe liver disease, central nervous system depression, and in those with coma or in a state of shock. Its use in children under 12 years of age is not recommended unless specifically indicated by a doctor.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Stelazine to patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular diseases, or who are receiving other medications that may affect the central nervous system.
