Indications
Stelabid is indicated in the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and other mood disorders. It is also used in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, as well as in the management of anxiety disorders. Its antipsychotic action is attributable to its ability to block dopamine receptors in the central nervous system, which helps reduce psychotic symptoms. On the other hand, isopropamide acts as an anticholinergic that can help mitigate gastrointestinal side effects that may occur during treatment.
Composition
Each Stelabid tablet contains 1 mg of Trifluoperazine and 5 mg of Isopropamide as active ingredients, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Stelabid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with a history of central nervous system depression or severe liver disease. Its use is not recommended in patients with closed-angle glaucoma or severe urinary retention.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular disease, or in those who present symptoms of Parkinson's disease. It is important to monitor patients for possible side effects, including drowsiness, dizziness, and mood changes. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
