Indications

Spiriva is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adult patients. This medication helps improve lung function and reduce shortness of breath. It may also be used as an additional treatment in asthma patients, as assessed by the treating physician. The administration of Tiotropium Bromide is designed to provide long-term relief from respiratory symptoms, improving the quality of life for patients suffering from chronic respiratory conditions.

Composition

Each Spiriva capsule contains 18 mcg of Tiotropium Bromide as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as lactose monohydrate, which facilitates the administration of the medication.

Contraindications

Spiriva is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tiotropium Bromide or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients experiencing acute episodes of bronchoconstriction, as it is not a rescue treatment.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, kidney problems, or those who are being treated with other medications that may increase the risk of adverse effects. Regular medical follow-up is important to evaluate the response to treatment and adjust therapy as needed.

Storage

Store Spiriva at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep the product out of the reach of children.
