Indications
Spiolto Respimat is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who require bronchodilator therapy. This medication helps improve lung function and relieve respiratory symptoms, facilitating breathing. It is used as a long-term maintenance treatment and is not indicated for the treatment of acute bronchospasm episodes. Its combination of tiotropium, an anticholinergic, and olodaterol, a long-acting beta-agonist, acts synergistically to provide a more effective bronchodilator effect.
Composition
Each dose of Spiolto Respimat contains 0.226 mg of tiotropium (as tiotropium bromide) and 0.226 mg of olodaterol (as olodaterol HCl).
Contraindications
Spiolto Respimat is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula or to other anticholinergics. It should not be used in patients with asthma, as it is not approved for this use and may cause adverse effects. Furthermore, its use in children and adolescents is not indicated.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and those undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or tricyclic antidepressants. It is important to follow the instructions for use and not exceed the recommended dose.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
