Indications
Spagnosan (zoledronic acid) is indicated for the treatment of various neoplasia-related conditions, including tumor-associated malignant hypercalcemia, as well as for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from cancer. It is also used in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, as well as in men at high risk of fractures. Zoledronic acid acts by inhibiting osteoclast activity, which leads to a reduction in bone mass loss and an improvement in bone mineral density.
Composition
Each Spagnosan ampule contains 4 mg of zoledronic acid, as well as essential excipients for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to zoledronic acid or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment, nor to those with severe dehydration.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with pre-existing kidney diseases, as well as in those who are undergoing concomitant treatment with other nephrotoxic medications. It is essential to monitor renal function before and after the administration of zoledronic acid. Patients should be adequately hydrated before infusion.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep away from direct light and out of reach of children.
