Indications

Sophixin Dx Ungena Ung is indicated for the treatment of superficial infections of the eye and its adnexa, as well as for the treatment of inflammatory processes associated with these infections. It is used in the management of bacterial conjunctivitis and in cases of ocular infection requiring the action of an antibiotic and a corticosteroid. The combination of ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, and dexamethasone, a corticosteroid, allows not only to eradicate the infection but also to reduce associated inflammation and discomfort. This medication is particularly useful in situations where rapid and effective treatment is required to control symptoms such as redness, itching, and ocular discharge.

Composition

Each 1 g of ointment contains: Ciprofloxacin 3 mg and Dexamethasone 1 mg. Excipients: petrolatum, lanolin, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with viral, fungal, or tuberculous infections of the eyes. Its use is not recommended in the presence of corneal lesions caused by herpes simplex, as it may worsen the clinical situation.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to antibiotics or corticosteroids. Prolonged use may increase the risk of secondary infections. Avoid contact with contact lenses during treatment. If symptoms persist or worsen, therapy should be reevaluated.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
