Indications
Sonssimet Drops are indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye and its adnexa, as well as for the management of inflammatory or allergic conditions in the eyes. This medication combines an antibiotic (Tobramycin) that acts against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone) that helps reduce inflammation and relieve associated symptoms, such as redness and itching. It is used in cases of bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other eye infections where a combined antibiotic and anti-inflammatory approach is required.
Composition
Each ml of solution contains: Tobramycin 3 mg and Dexamethasone 1 mg.
Contraindications
This product is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in viral, fungal, tuberculous, or parasitic eye infections. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled glaucoma and in those who have had severe adverse reactions to corticosteroids.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of ocular herpes simplex, as the use of corticosteroids can exacerbate the infection. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions and not exceed the recommended dose. If no improvement is observed, a doctor should be consulted. Prolonged use of the medication without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
