Indications
Sodrimax Otico is indicated for the treatment of external and middle ear infections, as well as for the management of associated itching and inflammation. Its combination of Ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, Benzocaine, a local anesthetic, and Hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid, allows for a comprehensive approach to infectious and allergic conditions that may affect the ear. This medication is useful in otitis externa, otitis media, and in cases of postoperative inflammation in otological procedures. It is recommended to apply the drops to the affected ear as directed by the treating physician.
Composition
Each ml of Sodrimax Otico contains:
- Ciprofloxacin: 0.3 g
- Benzocaine: 0.5 g
- Hydrocortisone: 1 g
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in cases of tympanic membrane perforation, as well as in viral ear infections. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other antibiotics of the fluoroquinolone family.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. It is recommended to avoid contact of the dropper with the ear or any other surface to prevent contamination. If no improvement in symptoms is observed after a few days of treatment, a doctor should be consulted. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
