Indications

Smofkabiven Central is a solution indicated for parenteral nutrition in patients who cannot receive oral or enteral feeding. It is designed to meet the nutritional needs of adults and children over 2 years of age who require complete nutritional support. This product is especially useful in situations of malnutrition, in patients with gastrointestinal diseases that prevent adequate nutrient absorption, and in those with critical conditions that require controlled energy and macronutrient intake. Smofkabiven Central provides a balanced mixture of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids, as well as electrolytes, necessary for the patient's recovery and maintenance of nutritional status.

Composition

Each 1000 mL of Smofkabiven Central contains:

  • Glucose
  • Fatty acids
  • Amino acids
  • Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, chlorine, and others)

Contraindications

This product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the solution, as well as in those with diseases that present a high risk of fluid overload, severe alterations of renal or hepatic function, and in situations of extreme malnutrition without medical supervision.

Precautions

It should be administered under strict medical supervision. It is important to monitor electrolyte levels, as well as the patient's hydration status. Renal and hepatic function should be evaluated before starting treatment and during its use. In case of adverse reactions, the administration of the solution should be discontinued.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature. Do not expose to direct light and keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
