Indications
Singulair (Montelukast) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of asthma symptoms in adult and pediatric patients. It is also used for the relief of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as for the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. This medication works by blocking leukotriene receptors, which helps reduce inflammation and constriction of the airways, thereby improving lung function and decreasing the frequency of asthmatic episodes.
Composition
Each tablet contains Montelukast at a dose of 10 mg, as well as excipients necessary for the product formulation.
Contraindications
Singulair is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to montelukast or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Singulair in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as changes in behavior and suicidal thoughts have been reported in some cases. Additionally, liver function should be evaluated in patients with a history of liver disease. Do not discontinue asthma treatment without consulting a doctor, as this may cause a worsening of the condition.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
