Indications
Siluprod is indicated for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, as well as in the management of certain types of hormonal disorders in men and women, including endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Leuprorelin acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog, thereby inhibiting the production of sex hormones. It is essential that the use of this medication be under strict medical supervision, given its pharmacological profile and potential adverse reactions that may occur.
Composition
Each ampule contains: Leuprorelin (as acetate) 3.75 mg, excipients: water for injection, hydrochloric acid, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to leuprorelin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in cases of pregnancy and lactation, or in patients with a history of severe cardiovascular disease or thromboembolism.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of obstructive pulmonary diseases, epilepsy or psychiatric illnesses, as well as in those with a history of hormonal disorders. Frequent patient monitoring is recommended to assess treatment efficacy and detect possible adverse effects.
Storage
Store at controlled temperature, between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
