Indications
Sifrol ER is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease in adults. It is used to improve motor and non-motor symptoms associated with this condition, including rigidity, tremor, and bradykinesia. It is also indicated in the treatment of restless legs syndrome, a condition that causes an urgent need to move the legs, usually accompanied by uncomfortable sensations.
Pramipexole acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, which contributes to the regulation of movements and improves the quality of life for patients with these conditions. It is important to follow the prescribing physician's instructions regarding dosage and treatment regimen, as response to the medication may vary among patients.
Composition
Each Sifrol ER tablet contains 3 mg of pramipexole as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pramipexole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency, as well as in those being treated with antipsychotics, as it may potentiate the adverse effects of these medications.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of impulse control disorders, as the use of pramipexole may aggravate these conditions. Careful monitoring is recommended in patients over 65 years of age and in those with cardiovascular diseases.
