Indications

Sifrol ER 1.5 mg is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of Parkinson's disease in adults. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, helping to improve motor control and the quality of life of patients. Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of restless legs syndrome, helping to relieve discomfort and the uncontrollable urge to move the legs, especially during periods of rest.

Composition

Each Sifrol ER tablet contains 1.5 mg of pramipexole as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medication into extended-release tablets.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pramipexole or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in patients with severe kidney disease, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders or impulsive episodes.

Precautions

Regular medical monitoring is recommended during treatment with Sifrol ER, especially in the first few months. It is important to inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as well as pre-existing medical conditions. Patients should be warned about the possibility of drowsiness or episodes of low blood pressure, which may affect their ability to drive or perform activities requiring full alertness.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
