Indications
Sifrol (Pramipexole) is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease symptoms in adult patients. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, helping to improve mobility and reduce muscle rigidity. In addition, it is used in the treatment of sleep disorders related to restless legs syndrome in adults. It is important that the use of Sifrol is appropriate to the treating physician's indications and in the context of a comprehensive treatment.
Composition
Each Sifrol tablet contains 0.5 mg of pramipexole as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, starch, and other components that facilitate the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
The use of Sifrol is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to pramipexole or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe kidney disease or those who present with uncontrolled episodes of hallucinations and psychosis. Its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women should be evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart problems, psychiatric disorders, or those taking other medications that affect the central nervous system.
