Indications

Sertex is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and panic disorders. Sertraline acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), helping to balance serotonin levels in the brain, which can improve mood and reduce anxiety. This medication is useful for patients experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety, improving their quality of life and daily functioning.

Composition

Each Sertex tablet contains 50 mg of sertraline as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Sertex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sertraline or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) due to the risk of severe adverse reactions. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of mania or bipolar disorder, as well as those with severe liver or kidney problems.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of bleeding problems, as well as in those taking other medications that may affect coagulation. It is important to assess the risk of suicide in young patients and to adequately monitor patients during the first weeks of treatment or during any dose change. Use in pregnant or breastfeeding women should be carefully evaluated by a doctor.

Storage

Store at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C) in a dry place, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
