Indications

Seroquel XR is indicated for the treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder, as well as for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. It is also used as an adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder in adults who have not responded adequately to conventional antidepressant therapy. Quetiapine acts by modulating neurotransmitter activity in the brain, contributing to mood stabilization and reduction of psychotic symptoms.

Composition

Each Seroquel XR tablet contains 300 mg of quetiapine, as well as excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.

Contraindications

Seroquel XR should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to quetiapine or any of the product's excipients. It is contraindicated in individuals with a history of manic depression or suicide attempts, as well as in those undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, liver or kidney disease, as well as in those at high risk of developing neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Regular follow-up of patients is recommended to monitor for adverse effects and assess treatment efficacy.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
