Indications
Sermion (Nicergoline) is indicated for the treatment of cerebral circulatory disorders and as adjunctive therapy for senile dementia. This medication helps improve cerebral blood flow and is indicated in patients presenting symptoms of cognitive impairment, such as difficulties with attention, memory, and concentration. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of cognitive dysfunction associated with vascular diseases of the central nervous system. Nicergoline acts as a vasodilator, improving cerebral perfusion and facilitating the supply of oxygen and nutrients to brain tissue.
Composition
Each Sermion tablet contains 10 mg of Nicergoline and non-therapeutic excipients in sufficient quantities for tablet formation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Nicergoline or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with cerebral hemorrhage or those who have experienced a recent cerebral infarction. Furthermore, it should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under strict medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Sermion to patients with a history of peptic ulcers or hemorrhagic disorders. It is important to monitor patients with cardiovascular diseases before and during treatment. Renal and hepatic function should be evaluated before initiating therapy, as these organs can influence drug elimination.
