Indications

Seretide Diskus is indicated for the treatment of asthma in patients who require regular treatment with a corticosteroid and a bronchodilator. It is used in patients whose conditions are not adequately controlled with a corticosteroid alone. Additionally, it is used in the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in patients with persistent symptoms and who have had exacerbation episodes. The medication combines a corticosteroid (Fluticasone) that helps reduce inflammation and a long-acting bronchodilator (Salmeterol) that helps relax the airway muscles, facilitating breathing.

Composition

Each inhalation of Seretide Diskus contains 50 mcg of Salmeterol and 100 mcg of Fluticasone. Excipients: Lactose, which acts as a drug carrier.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with asthma controlled solely with short-acting bronchodilators.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, and in those with pulmonary infections. Medical supervision is recommended if adverse effects occur during treatment.
