Indications
Serc is used in the treatment of symptoms associated with Meniere's syndrome, including vertigo, dizziness, and tinnitus. Betahistine is a medication that improves blood flow in the inner ear, which helps reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo episodes. It is also indicated for the treatment of vestibular disorders that result in dizziness and balance problems. It is essential that the use of this medication is under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who can determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each Serc tablet contains 24 mg of betahistine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Serc should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to betahistine or any of the excipients. It is contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma, as betahistine can cause an increase in catecholamine release. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with asthma, peptic ulcers, or a history of gastrointestinal diseases. It is important to monitor patients with liver or kidney problems, as the elimination of betahistine may be affected. Regular medical follow-up during treatment is advised.
