Indications
Serc is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with Meniere's disease, which may include dizziness, vertigo, and hearing loss. Betahistine works by improving blood circulation in the inner ear, which helps reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo episodes. This medication can be used in patients with balance disorders and other vestibular disorders, providing relief from symptoms that affect the patient's quality of life.
Composition
Each Serc tablet contains 16 mg of betahistine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients: lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to betahistine or any of the formulation components, as well as in those with pheochromocytoma, as it can cause hypertensive crises. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with asthma or active gastric ulcers.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of peptic ulcer, asthma, or gastrointestinal problems, as betahistine may aggravate these conditions. Liver function monitoring is recommended in patients with pre-existing liver diseases. Additionally, it is important to assess the risk-benefit ratio before initiating treatment in patients over 65 years of age.

Store the medication in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
