Indications
Selopres Zok is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. This medication combines two active ingredients, metoprolol, a beta-blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, which act synergistically to reduce blood pressure in patients requiring adequate and sustained control of their condition. It can also be used in the management of conditions associated with hypertension, such as heart failure and the prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
Composition
Each Selopres Zok tablet contains 95 mg of metoprolol and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
Selopres Zok is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, severe bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, decompensated heart failure, bronchial asthma, or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency and during pregnancy and lactation, unless otherwise directed by a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, diabetes mellitus, hypokalemia, or dehydration. It is important to monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment is not recommended, as this may cause a rebound effect on blood pressure. Patients should be informed about the importance of following medical instructions and undergoing regular check-ups.
