Indications

Secotex Ocas 0.4 mg is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of benign prostatic enlargement in men, which include difficulty initiating urination, increased urinary frequency, needing to urinate at night, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. This medication acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist in the prostate and bladder, facilitating urine flow by relaxing muscles in these areas. It is important that its use be supervised by a physician to ensure the treatment is appropriate for the patient and to monitor the response to it.

Composition

Each Secotex Ocas tablet contains 0.4 mg of Tamsulosin, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Secotex Ocas is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tamsulosin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in cases of severe hepatic insufficiency and in patients who are taking medications that may interact with Tamsulosin, such as certain CYP3A4 inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of orthostatic hypotension, as Secotex Ocas may cause dizziness or fainting. Likewise, it should be used with care in patients who have a history of ocular surgery (such as cataract surgery) due to the risk of complications during the procedure. Regular medical follow-up during treatment is essential.

Store the medication in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
