Indications
Ryzodeg is indicated for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults and adolescents aged 18 years and older. This medication is used for blood glucose control, providing a prolonged action profile and a rapid reduction in postprandial glucose levels. Its formulation combines long-acting insulin (Degludec) with rapid-acting insulin (Aspart), allowing for flexible administration and more precise glycemic control in patients requiring insulin treatment. Ryzodeg can be administered at any time of day, regardless of meals, but it is recommended to maintain a consistent administration schedule.
Composition
Each Ryzodeg pen contains 70 units of insulin Degludec and 30 units of insulin Aspart per milliliter. Additionally, it includes excipients such as sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and water for injection, which contribute to the stability and efficacy of the medication.
Contraindications
Ryzodeg is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to insulin Degludec, insulin Aspart, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients experiencing severe hypoglycemia episodes or who are in a state of diabetic coma.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Ryzodeg in patients with severe renal or hepatic disease, as well as in those under extreme stress conditions that may cause alterations in glycemic control. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels regularly to avoid hypoglycemic episodes.
Storage
Ryzodeg should be stored refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Once opened, it can be stored at room temperature (not above 30°C) for up to 28 days. Keep out of reach of children.
