Indications
Revolade (Eltrombopag) is indicated for the treatment of thrombocytopathy, specifically in adult patients with thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) associated with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) who have not responded to previous treatments. It is also used in patients with chronic thrombocytopenia in the context of hepatitis C who require antiviral treatment, as well as in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome who present with thrombocytopenia.
Composition
Each Revolade tablet contains 25 mg of Eltrombopag. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
Revolade is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Eltrombopag or any of the formulation components. It should not be administered to patients with chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia and those with a hypercoagulable state.
Precautions
Patients are recommended to be monitored regularly to assess platelet count, as well as to detect possible adverse effects. In case of symptoms of hepatotoxicity, such as jaundice or increased transaminases, treatment should be discontinued. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of thrombosis or embolism.
Storage
Store in its original packaging at room temperature, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
