Indications
Renegy is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency in patients with iron deficiency anemia, especially in those who cannot receive iron orally. This medication is used in situations of iron deficiency associated with conditions such as chronic kidney failure or in patients who have experienced significant hemorrhages. It is also used in patients who require a rapid iron supply, given its efficient mechanism of action in promoting iron availability in the body.
Composition
Each Renegy vial contains 500 mg of ferric carboxymaltose, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
Renegy is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ferric carboxymaltose or to any of the components of the formula. Furthermore, it should not be used in patients with non-iron deficiency anemia, hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis, or in those with a history of anaphylactic reactions related to iron.
Precautions
It is important to monitor the iron status in patients treated with Renegy. Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as iron administration may cause adverse effects in this group. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate renal and liver function before starting treatment. Concomitant administration of other iron supplements is not recommended, as this may increase the risk of toxicity.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
