Indications
Remeron (mirtazapine) is indicated for the treatment of major depression in adults. This medication acts on the central nervous system by increasing the activity of neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine and serotonin, which helps improve mood and alleviate symptoms associated with depression. It has also been used in some cases to treat anxiety disorders and sleep disorders that may be related to depression, although its use in these indications must be evaluated and supervised by a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Remeron tablet contains 15 mg of mirtazapine as the active ingredient. Additionally, it may contain excipients such as lactose monohydrate, starch, silica, among others, which facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Remeron is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mirtazapine or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who have received MAOIs in the last 14 days. Its use is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe hematological disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Remeron to patients with a history of seizure disorders, severe liver or kidney disease, as well as those at risk of suicide. The emergence of worsening depression symptoms and suicidal thoughts should be monitored, especially at the beginning of treatment or when adjusting the dose. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
