Indications

Redevant is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa) and mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb) in adult patients. It is used as an adjunct to an appropriate diet to reduce elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol levels. Additionally, it is indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease or in those with cardiovascular risk factors.

Composition

Each Redevant tablet contains 4 mg of Pitavastatin as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other components to facilitate the formulation and absorption of the medication.

Contraindications

Redevant is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pitavastatin or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active liver disease, including persistent elevations of transaminases, as well as in those with a history of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis associated with previous statin treatments.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, severe renal insufficiency, and in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor liver function before and during treatment. It is recommended to evaluate the presence of risk factors for the development of myopathy, especially in elderly patients or those using high doses of statins.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
