Indications

Recoplat is indicated in the treatment of adult patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, usually in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. It is used in situations where initial therapy has failed or as postoperative adjuvant treatment in stage III colorectal cancer. It is also considered in cases of metastatic gastric cancer, in combination with other chemotherapeutic drugs, to improve the response rate and overall survival of patients. Oxaliplatin has been shown to be effective in reducing tumor size and prolonging life in selected patients under strict medical supervision.

Composition

Each vial of Recoplat contains 100 mg of oxaliplatin in a solution that includes specific excipients for its stability and efficacy. The formulation is presented in a volume of 20 ml, ready for intravenous administration.

Contraindications

Recoplat is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oxaliplatin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease, in those with significant preexisting peripheral neuropathy, as well as during pregnancy and lactation, due to its potential teratogenicity and risks to the fetus or infant.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergies, as well as in those with kidney or liver problems. Careful monitoring of hematological parameters is essential, as oxaliplatin can cause myelosuppression. Administration must be carried out under the supervision of an oncology specialist, ensuring proper management of possible adverse effects.

Storage

Recoplat should be stored at a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
