Indications

Prolia (Denosumab) is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures. It is also used in men with osteoporosis and in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer who are receiving androgen deprivation therapy, as well as in patients with breast cancer who are receiving aromatase inhibitor therapy. Additionally, Prolia is indicated for the prevention of fractures in patients with low bone mineral density and in those with a history of osteoporotic fractures. This medication works by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts, the cells responsible for bone resorption, which helps to improve bone density and reduce the risk of fractures.

Composition

Each Prolia syringe contains 60 mg of Denosumab in 1 ml of injectable solution.

Contraindications

Prolia is contraindicated in patients with untreated hypocalcemia. It should not be used in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to Denosumab or any of the excipients in the formulation. Additionally, its use is not recommended in patients with active severe infections or in those with immunosuppressive diseases that may increase the risk of infections.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of recurrent infections, as Prolia may increase the risk of infections. It is recommended to monitor blood calcium levels before and during treatment, especially in those at risk of hypocalcemia. The possibility of osteonecrosis of the jaw should also be considered in patients undergoing dental procedures or who have risk factors.

Store refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
