Indications
Profenid Retard is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation in conditions such as: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. It is also used for the management of acute pain, including postoperative pain and dental pain. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic action makes it effective in relieving symptoms of various pathologies, improving patients' quality of life. This medication works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, which contributes to the reduction of inflammation and the sensation of pain.
Composition
Each Profenid Retard tablet contains 200 mg of ketoprofen as the active ingredient. Additionally, it includes excipients suitable to ensure the stability and efficacy of the medication.
Contraindications
Profenid Retard is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or other NSAIDs. It should not be used in patients with active gastric or duodenal ulcers, severe renal insufficiency, or in those with inflammatory bowel diseases. It is also contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy and while breastfeeding, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, hepatic or renal insufficiency, and in those who are being treated with anticoagulants or other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding. It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function during prolonged treatment. In case of adverse reactions, a doctor should be contacted immediately.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
