Indications
Profenid IM is indicated for the treatment of pain of various etiologies, including postoperative pain, pain in musculoskeletal diseases, and pain associated with inflammatory disorders. It is also used for the management of acute pain, such as that occurring in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Additionally, it can be useful in controlling pain associated with renal and menstrual colic. Its anti-inflammatory action makes it appropriate for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases.
Composition
Each ampoule of Profenid IM contains 100 mg of ketoprofen as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Profenid IM is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to ketoprofen or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer, severe renal insufficiency, and severe liver diseases. Its use in the third trimester of pregnancy is contraindicated due to potential risks to the fetus.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Profenid IM in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, asthma, hypertension, heart failure, or renal insufficiency. It is advisable to monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment, especially in elderly patients or those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect renal function.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
