Indications
Profenid is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, as well as for the management of inflammatory diseases. It is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and in the management of postoperative pain. It can also be used in the treatment of dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain) and headaches. The anti-inflammatory action of ketoprofen helps reduce inflammation and pain associated with various musculoskeletal conditions.
Composition
Each Profenid capsule contains 100 mg of ketoprofen as the active ingredient. Excipients: corn starch, talc, gelatin, among others.
Contraindications
Profenid is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal failure, or dehydration. It is also contraindicated in patients who have asthma, rhinitis, or urticaria induced by acetylsalicylic acid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, moderate hepatic or renal impairment, as well as in those being treated with anticoagulants or with a history of peptic ulcers. Clinical evaluation and monitoring of renal function should be considered in patients treated with ketoprofen, especially in the elderly and in those with pre-existing conditions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and out of the reach of children. Protect from light and moisture.
