Indications

Primogyn (Estradiol Valerate) is indicated for the treatment of hormonal disorders in women, including hormone replacement therapy in menopause. It is used to relieve symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. It is also prescribed for the prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures. Its use may be beneficial in the treatment of menstrual disorders caused by estrogen deficiency, such as primary and secondary amenorrhea, as well as in situations of hypogonadism. This medication works by replenishing estrogen levels in the body, promoting the development and maintenance of secondary sexual characteristics and bone health.

Composition

Each Primogyn dragee contains 2 mg of estradiol valerate. In addition, it contains excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication, ensuring its stability and efficacy.

Contraindications

Primogyn is contraindicated in patients with a history of breast cancer or endometrial cancer, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or severe liver diseases. Its use is not recommended in women with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding or who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the formula.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Primogyn to women with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or liver disorders. Regular medical follow-up is important to assess the appearance of adverse effects or complications. It is recommended to evaluate the risk-benefit in each patient before starting treatment and consider alternatives in case of associated risk factors.

Storage

Store Primogyn at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use this medication after the expiry date indicated on the package.
