Indications
Prigadef is indicated for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in surgical and diagnostic procedures. It is also used for sedation of patients in intensive care units and during procedures requiring conscious sedation. Its use is appropriate in adult and pediatric patients, with dosage adjusted according to body weight and the patient's clinical needs. Propofol has a rapid onset of action and rapid recovery, making it a preferred option in situations where a quick exit from anesthesia is required.
Composition
Each Prigadef ampoule contains: Propofol 200 mg in 20 ml. Excipients: soybean oil, glycerol, soy lecithin, and water for injection.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to propofol or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in cases of severe respiratory failure and in patients with a history of hyperlipidemia or lipid metabolism disorders, due to its soybean oil content.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as propofol can cause cardiovascular depression. It is important to monitor patients' vital signs during its administration. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate liver and kidney function before use, as well as in patients with a history of epilepsy, as it may alter the seizure threshold.
Storage
Store at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C). Protect from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
