Indications
Prezcobix is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age weighing at least 40 kg, in combination with other antiretrovirals. This medication is used as part of a therapeutic regimen to achieve viral suppression in patients who have not received prior treatment or who have shown resistance to other antiretroviral medications. The combination of darunavir and cobicistat aims to improve the efficacy and tolerability of the treatment, providing sustained viral control.
Composition
Each Prezcobix tablet contains 800 mg of Darunavir and 150 mg of Cobicistat as active ingredients, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Prezcobix is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to darunavir, cobicistat, or any of the excipients. It should not be used in combination with certain medications that may cause significant interactions, which could compromise treatment efficacy or increase the risk of adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Prezcobix to patients with a history of severe liver disease, as well as those receiving other medications that may affect hepatic metabolism. Regular monitoring of liver function is important during treatment. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate the patient's immunological status and perform resistance tests at the start of treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
