Indications
PREGNUS-UTI is an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, including uncomplicated acute cystitis in women. Its use is especially indicated for patients experiencing symptoms of burning during urination, increased urinary frequency, and lower abdominal pain. Fosfomycin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against various gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens that commonly cause urinary infections. It is important to initiate treatment as soon as the first symptoms appear to achieve a rapid resolution of the infection.
Composition
Each sachet of PREGNUS-UTI contains 2 g of fosfomycin as fosfomycin trometamol, in addition to excipients such as sweeteners and flavorings to improve the palatability of the suspension.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or any of the formula's components. Its use should also be avoided in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney disease or those taking medications that may affect kidney function. Before initiating treatment, a complete medical evaluation is advisable to rule out other possible causes of urinary symptoms. Additionally, its use in pregnant and breastfeeding women should be considered under medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
