Indications

Predial Plus is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as an adjunct to an appropriate diet and physical exercise. It is used to improve glycemic control in overweight or obese patients, and can be administered alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin. In addition, its use may be considered in the prevention of diabetes in patients with impaired fasting glucose or glucose intolerance.

Composition

Each Predial Plus tablet contains 1000 mg of metformin as metformin hydrochloride. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.

Contraindications

Predial Plus is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, or in conditions that may cause tissue hypoxia (such as acute myocardial infarction or respiratory insufficiency). Furthermore, its use is contraindicated in patients requiring the administration of iodinated contrast media.

Precautions

Renal function monitoring is recommended in patients using Predial Plus, especially in those over 65 years of age or in those with conditions that may affect renal function. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular diseases, mild hepatic insufficiency, and in those undergoing surgical procedures.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
