Indications

Predial Plus is indicated as a treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Its use is recommended in overweight patients or those with a history of gestational diabetes. Metformin primarily works by reducing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, which contributes to better blood glucose control. Furthermore, it can be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin, as indicated by the treating physician.

Composition

Each Predial Plus tablet contains 850 mg of Metformin.

Contraindications

Predial Plus is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe renal insufficiency, severe metabolic imbalances, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in patients with conditions that may predispose to lactic acidosis.

Precautions

Regular monitoring of renal function is important in patients receiving metformin treatment, especially in those with risk factors. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease or those who consume high amounts of alcohol. Likewise, medical supervision is recommended in cases of surgery or diagnostic procedures involving the administration of iodinated contrast media.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
