Indications

Predial Plus is used as a treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It is indicated in overweight or obese patients, as well as in those with insulin resistance. Metformin, its active ingredient, helps control blood glucose levels by decreasing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity. In addition, it can be used as part of a combined therapeutic regimen with other oral antidiabetic drugs or insulin, when monotherapy does not provide adequate glycemic control. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and medical follow-up are recommended to adjust the dose as needed.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg. Excipients: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

Predial Plus is contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency (glomerular filtration rate < 30 ml/min), acute and chronic diseases that may affect renal function, lactic acidosis, known hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the excipients, as well as in situations that predispose to dehydration, such as severe vomiting, prolonged diarrhea, or fever.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Predial Plus in patients with hepatic insufficiency, chronic respiratory diseases, alcoholism, and those undergoing surgical procedures or radiological examinations involving the use of iodinated contrast medium. It is important to regularly monitor renal function and blood glucose, and to report any unusual symptoms that may arise during treatment.
