Indications
Poscirol (Anastrozole) is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone-dependent early-stage breast cancer, as well as for the treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Its use is based on its ability to inhibit aromatase, which reduces estrogen levels in the body, which can help stop the growth of tumors that depend on hormones for their development. This medication is also used in patients with disease relapse or progression after tamoxifen treatment.
Composition
Each Poscirol tablet contains 1 mg of Anastrozole as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Poscirol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Anastrozole or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in premenopausal women, nor in patients with severe liver disease or a history of ovarian or endometrial cancer.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or osteoporosis, as Poscirol may contribute to decreased bone density. Regular monitoring of bone health is recommended during treatment. In addition, liver and kidney function should be evaluated before starting treatment and during its use.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
