Indications
Polygynax is indicated in the treatment of vaginal infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to its components, including bacterial and fungal infections. It is used in cases of infectious vaginitis and as adjunctive treatment for gynecological infections, as well as in the prevention of infections during gynecological surgical procedures. This medication is especially useful in the treatment of mixed infections where antibacterial and antifungal action is required. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions for proper and effective use of the product.
Composition
Each capsule contains: Neomycin 35000 IU, Polymyxin-B 35000 IU, Nystatin 100000 IU. Excipients: gelatin, glycerin, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in case of fungal infections not sensitive to nystatin or in patients with a history of allergic reactions to aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, as prolonged use can cause toxicity. Likewise, it is recommended to avoid the simultaneous use of other medications that may interfere with the effectiveness of Polygynax. It should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
