Indications
Plendil (Felodipine) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It is used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensives for blood pressure control. Blood pressure reduction can decrease the risk of cardiovascular complications, including stroke and coronary artery disease. It is advisable to initiate treatment with Plendil under the supervision of a physician, who should determine the appropriate dose according to the patient's needs.
Composition
Each Plendil tablet contains 5 mg of Felodipine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is essential to consult the package insert for a complete list of excipients and additional product information.
Contraindications
Plendil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Felodipine or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with cardiogenic shock, unstable angina, or severe heart failure. Furthermore, it should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women unless strictly necessary and under adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of cardiovascular diseases. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended, and the dose should be adjusted according to the patient's response to treatment. Care should also be taken when combining Plendil with other medications that may affect its efficacy or increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store Plendil at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children and do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
