Indications
Pisacaina is a local anesthetic indicated for analgesia in minor surgical procedures, as well as in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Its use is suitable for regional, infiltrative, and block anesthesia, as well as for epidural anesthesia, providing adequate pain control. It is also used in dentistry procedures and in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, due to its antiarrhythmic properties. It is indicated in patients requiring temporary pain relief, as well as in the management of postoperative pain, in combination with other analgesics if necessary.
Composition
Each ampule of Pisacaina contains: 1% Lidocaine, excipients q.s.p. 100 ml.
Contraindications
Pisacaina is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or other local anesthetics, as well as in those with severe liver function problems or complete heart block. It should not be administered in infected or inflamed areas. It is contraindicated in patients with conditions that compromise breathing, such as severe obstructive pulmonary diseases.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of seizures, as well as in those with heart disease or impaired kidney function. In case of accidental intravenous administration, systemic toxicity may occur. It is recommended to monitor patients during and after administration to detect possible adverse reactions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
