Indications

Pisacaina 2% is indicated for local anesthesia in minor surgical procedures, as well as in the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Its use is suitable for nerve blocks, infiltrations, and as an adjunct in general anesthesia. Furthermore, it can be used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures requiring local anesthesia, such as tooth extractions, sutures, and other minor procedures on the skin and soft tissues. It is also used in the formulation of epidural and spinal anesthesia, as well as in postoperative pain management.

Composition

Each ml of Pisacaina 2% contains: 20 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride, excipients q.s.p. 1 ml.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of complete heart block or in patients with conditions affecting cardiac or neuromuscular function. It is also contraindicated in patients with infections at the application site.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Pisacaina in patients with hepatic insufficiency, heart disease, or those who are undergoing treatment with medications that may interfere with cardiovascular function. Its administration should be carried out by trained professionals, and it is suggested to monitor the patient during and after the anesthetic procedure. Avoid its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
