Indications
Pirimir is indicated for the symptomatic relief of dysuria (pain or burning during urination) and other lower urinary tract symptoms, such as urgency and urinary frequency, which may occur in conditions like urinary tract infections or cystitis. This medication acts as a local analgesic in the urinary tract, providing a soothing effect that can help improve patients' quality of life during episodes of urinary discomfort.
Composition
Each Pirimir tablet contains 100 mg of phenazopyridine. Excipients include: corn starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, and other inert components.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to phenazopyridine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe renal insufficiency or those with impaired liver function. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless expressly indicated by a physician.
Precautions
This medication should be used with caution in patients with moderate liver or kidney diseases. Phenazopyridine may cause an orange discoloration of the urine, which is normal and should not alarm the patient. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose and to consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than two days.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
