Indications

Periplum 1% Gel is indicated for the treatment of bacterial skin infections, including furuncles and folliculitis. It is effective in the treatment of inflammatory lesions of acne vulgaris, as well as in more severe forms of this disease. Clindamycin, the active ingredient in this gel, works by inhibiting bacterial growth and reducing the inflammation associated with these dermatological conditions. In addition, it can be used as complementary therapy in staphylococcal and streptococcal skin infections where local antibacterial action is required.

Composition

Each 100 grams of Periplum Gel contains: 1 gram of clindamycin (as clindamycin phosphate) and excipients q.s. 100 grams.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be applied to areas of skin with eczema or dermatitis, and contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of colitis, as the use of antibiotics can alter intestinal flora and promote the appearance of pseudomembranous colitis. If severe or persistent diarrhea develops, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. This product should only be used on the skin and should not be ingested.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30°C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
